Team Chinese Taipei goaltender Tiffany Hsu has signed with the Buffalo Beauts. The National Team goalie becomes the 100th player to sign a contract to play in the NWHL’s fifth season.

“I came from a place with very limited hockey resources, so the fact that I worked so hard to get myself to where I am and actually making it to the NWHL and this great team in Buffalo is an incredible feeling,” said Hsu. “Joining the NWHL and the Beauts means a whole lot to me. It’s a dream come true.”

Hsu posted a .977 save percentage while facing an average of 30.72 shots against per 60 minutes at the IIHF Division II – Group B 2019 Women’s World Championship. Her performance secured the first-ever gold medal finish for Chinese Taipei at the Worlds and earned her recognition as the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper and the Most Valuable Player on her team.

As a result of winning the tournament, Chinese Taipei was promoted to Division II – Group A for the 2020 Women’s World Championship. Hsu has been a member of the national team since its inception in 2014. She has also played for the Rochester Edge and Carolina Lady Hurricanes club teams and has competed in each of the last three USA Hockey Nationals Senior Women B tournaments.
