Nazareth Standout Madi Nichols Signs With Beauts
BUFFALO – One of the most accomplished scorers in Nazareth College’s program history has signed with the Beauts for the 2022-23 Premier Hockey Federation season. Forward Madi Nichols has signed a 1-year contract to begin her professional career as a Beaut. The 5-foot-6 Nichols led the Golden Flyers in scoring for the past two seasons.
“I chose the Beauts for beginning my pro career because of the culture built around the players and the staff,” said Nichols. “The Beauts will push me and allow me to grow into the player I have always wanted to become. I know this team will do whatever it takes to succeed, and I am very excited for the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization.”
Nichols scored 37 goals, 59 assists and 96 points in 86 NCAA Division III games at Nazareth – an average of 1.13 points per game. At the conclusion of her collegiate career, the Trinity, Florida native ranked third in career goals, second in career assists and second in career points in Nazareth program history. Nichols’ finest performance came during the recent 2021-22 season in which she led her team in scoring with 46 points (18-28-46) in only 29 games.
"We are very excited to add Madi to our Beauts family,” said Beauts head coach Rhea Coad. “Madi comes from a college program built on culture and success. Madi has natural skill and great vision on the ice. She excelled in the college realm, and we are excited to see what she can do in the PHF.”
Nichols had 13 multipoint games this past season. Her finest performance saw her put five (2 -3-5) on the scoresheet against Neumann University on December 2. Five of Nichols’ 16 goals held up to be game-winners. During her high school career, she helped lead J.W. Mitchell High School to three state titles in Florida.
Nichols possesses attributes that are sure to make her a fan favorite.
