BUFFALO – Popular forward Amy Budde has re-signed with the Buffalo Beauts for the remainder of the 2022-23 Premier Hockey Federation season. Budde is her in second season with the club and was last season’s recipient of the Debra A. Cresanti Memorial Award. The award is given annually to the Beauts player most actively involved in the Western New York community, as voted by her teammates.

Details of the contract are not being disclosed. Budde began the present season initially as a Beauts practice player since the start of training camp before signing to a standard player contract.

“Being in Buffalo last season, I was able to build some wonderful relationships within the community,” said Budde. “Above all else, it means most to me to be part of the Beauts. The girls on the team create such a wonderful atmosphere and I’m proud to be part of this organization.”

Budde played in 10 of the Beauts’ 20 regular games during the 2021-22 PHF season – her first professional season in North America. Prior to her time with the Beauts, Budde played her first two professional seasons in Sweden’s SDHL with SDE. She played 72 regular season games for SDE from 2019-20 through 2020-21.

In that time she compiled nine goals, 14 assists, and 23 points. Budde ranked fourth on the team in scoring (5-10-15) across 36 games in 2020-21 and was SDE's topmost left-winger.

“Amy has always been one of our most popular players during her time with the Beauts because her passion for the organization and for Buffalo are totally unparalleled,” said Beauts GM Nate Oliver. “She does whatever she can to help our team to be successful and is the Beauts’ biggest cheerleader. Amy deserves this opportunity because she puts in the work on and off the ice. She is the consummate teammate.”

Before she turned pro, Budde played 112 NCAA games during her 4-year career at Lake Forest University. During that time, she went 61-70-131 in scoring for the Foresters. Budde ranks second all-time in program history for assists and games played, and third all-time for goals and points. She served as Lake Forest's team captain in her junior and senior seasons and was twice voted the team's Most Valuable Player (2016- 17, 2018-19).

“The Beauts will have a successful end to this season if we take it one day at a time and continue to improve and grow,” said Budde. “We need to value the things that make the City of Buffalo great, which are heart and dedication to supporting others.”
