Beauts Sign Goalie Hofmann to PTO for Opening Weekend
BUFFALO – The Buffalo Beauts have announced that they have signed goaltender Tera Hofmann to a professional tryout offer for their 2022-23 opening weekend series against the Montreal Force. Hofmann is expected to be in the lineup for both the Saturday, November 5 home opener at 7 pm EST and the Sunday, November 6 matinee game at 1 pm EST.
“Kassidy Sauvé will be out for a brief period of time with a lower-body injury,” said Beauts GM Nate Oliver. “We will be going with Tera and Lollo (Berndtsson) as our netminders this weekend while Sauvé is recovering. Make no mistake – Tera has earned every ounce of this opportunity. She has been integral in practice and during our preseason games. She has long since proven that she is capable of playing in this league, and we are excited to see Tera step into action. She is a Beaut through and through, and we are fortunate to have her on this team”.
Hofmann has been with the Beauts as a practice player since the start of the team’s training camp on September 23. She played in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 Premier Hockey Federation seasons with the Metropolitan Riveters and Toronto Six respectively. Through her two prior seasons. The 24-year-old
Hofmann has posted a record of 1-1-0 while playing in five regular season games. She compiled a 3.25 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage during that time.
“I am overwhelmingly excited and proud to be representing the Beauts this weekend,” said Hofmann. “We have strong leadership and a fantastic group of players. I can’t wait to share our good vibes with the fans! See you there!”.
