Beauts Add 2-Time USA National Team Member Dana Trivigno
BUFFALO – The Buffalo Beauts have announced the addition of another top-6 forward to their roster for the remainder of the 2021-22 Premier Hockey Federation season. 2-time IIHF World Championship gold medalist for Team USA and former Boston College captain Dana Trivigno has signed with the team. The move dramatically accentuates Buffalo’s ability in the offensive zone and further ensures that the team is able to skate four quality lines.
Trivigno – a center – most recently played for the PWHPA. Her signing with the Beauts is a return to the PHF, as she was previously a member of the Connecticut Whale (2016-17) and the Boston Pride (2017-2019).
"When Coach Rhea reached out to me, I thought it was a great opportunity to play for a coach I've always respected,” said Trivigno. “My former Boston College linemate Taylor Wasylk is also on the Beauts, and I am beyond excited to be able to play with her again. I'm looking forward to being a part of Buffalo's growing success.”
Trivigno played her collegiate career at BC from the 2012-13 season through the 2015-16 campaign. She achieved double digits in goals, assists, and points in each of her four seasons for the Eagles. Her finest output came during her senior season when she set career highs in all offensive categories with 17 goals, 30 assists and 47 points in only 41 games, and as team captain. At the completion of her collegiate career, Trivigno had compiled 57 goals, 81 assists and 138 points in 148 NCAA games – a rate of 0.93 points per game.
"Dana has excelled at hockey collegiately, internationally, and professionally,” said Beauts GM Nate Oliver. “We feel very fortunate to add a player of her caliber for the remainder of the regular season and for the playoffs. Dana has a great deal of speed and smarts, and she is a very talented puck handler. She has shown for her entire career that she can play a hard-nosed style of hockey but with a high level of skill at the same time.”
Trivigno was originally a draft selection of the Metropolitan Riveters, selected in the fourth round of the 2015 PHF Draft. Across her three previous PHF seasons, she totaled eight goals, 15 assists, and 23 points in 41 regular games split between Connecticut and Boston.
Internationally, Trivigno has played for Team USA at both the 2011 and 2012 IIHF Women’s U18 World Championships, winning gold and silver respectively. Additionally, she won two gold medals for Team USA at the 2015 and 2016 Women’s World Championships. In 2015 she scored a goal in the semi-finals against Russia and earned an assist in the gold medal game versus Canada.
“I'm a smart, two-way forward who is strong on both sides of the puck,” Trivigno said. “I hope to be able to contribute offensively, while also being reliable in the D-zone. The ultimate goal is to make a run for the Cup!”
